Chalkboard Paint

I'm a list person. I make to-do lists, grocery lists, even lists about future lists I need to make. I was very happy to see this new Chalkboard paint by Hudson that allows you to paint in other colors than standard black. It comes in 24 colors and runs at $25 a can..but you're buying a can of endless imagination.

Heres a couple ideas from the Design Sponge blog I follow.

Maybe I'll just paint my whole wall like this and get a giant eraser.

Changes

inspiration: the drawing of air into the lungs; inhalation
okay...wrong one.
inspiration: a thing or person that inspires

I have decided to completely re-design my recently re-designed tiffany blue room/office.

I'm going for elegant-modern-simple. Since I meet with people all the time for photo sessions, I feel I need to have somewhere cool for them to come...plus its a really good excuse for me to buy pretty new things and pick out awesome colors.

now I just need to convince Kourt to help me paint again...

Never Free

I am so thankful for the freedom our country holds. Regardless of the direction our country takes, we will always remember our foundation.

Happy fourth, all.

such a sweet father/daughter story.
"Dad..my favorite part is at the end at the key change. Right when you think the boy is scared away by the mean dad, he comes back and surprised her with a ring. He takes her away and tells her to get a white dress, it's magical"

Bunnies and Breakfast

It's nice to have a weekend once in a while where nothing is set in stone.

This weekend was considered Leslie hang out weekend. We played badminton, went thrifting for a hope chest (unsuccessful) and then spent the night at Nick's parents house. They were gone for the night for a Father's Day retreat. We had lots of fun cooking pancakes for dinner and I almost killed their cat. almost.

I also met the coolest bunny ever! His name is Jasper and I want one.

He just makes me want to watch Bambi!

I can't forget Lexi...She was quite the ham.

Get yourself a nice glass of lemonade, a good book and relax.

Cookies for Sarah

Friday was the big day. Nick's parent's and I left Virginia around 1:30 to see Sarah graduate from AI of Indianapolis...and so I could see Nicholas;) We finally arrived around 12:45 a.m.

I found this recipe online for 'cute as a button' cookies. I knew Sarah would appreciate their charm and since I don't cook (well), I'm glad they were simple! Here's how to make them.

Start out with some store-bought sugar cookie dough and cut into small pieces.
Depending on your color scheme find some coordinating baking sugar to add some color to your buttons!

Roll the small pieces of dough into balls. Dip the bottom of a small glass into the cookie dough to make the sugar stick then press the dough gently until it resembles a button. I know, this is pretty technical.

Use a skewer to poke small holes to form the button holes.

Lastly, bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. (or follow the directions on the dough label)

Finish them off with a cute jar, plastic wrap and curly ribbon. Voila! budget friendly graduation present!
